(“Nobody I Know Likes This Government) and the Dead Beat Jacks (“Graveyard Chicks Are Easy”). He is currently changing his strings.
KYLE BAUMAN (aka: Shimoda Hito, Chief, Gangan) – Things
From time to time Kyle creeps into the lineup from his Minnesotan lair, perhaps lugging an accordion, harmonicas, concertinas, a set of vibes, a morin khuur, taiko drums or various percussive instruments. When in the mix, you’ll surely know it and should probably snap a photo and send it on to us. The one we have depicts only one of Kyle’s aliases and we need more evidence.
Troy Kendrick – Bass
Hailing originally from Dallas, Troy made Seattle his home after stints in Miami, Philadelphia, NYC, and Virginia. Troy’s journey as a player began through the influence of his father and uncle, inspiring him to study guitar and bass as a teenager in the 80’s. While in Virginia, Troy had the opportunity to spend time with his with his bass idol (and revered house bassist for Blue Note records) Butch Warren. He also studied under Doug Miller, one of Seattle’s most respected bassists who performed with heavy-hitters such as James Moody, Ken Peplowski, George Cables, Ray Vega, and Dick Hyman, the Count Basie Orchestra, the Ellington Orchestra, and Ernestine Anderson. In addition to performing with the Green Line Quintet, the Jason Parker Trio and various freelance jazz groups in and around Seattle, Troy is a founding member of the Seattle-based jazz trio Dead Wax and composes & arranges for Two Eyes, a jazz group with a sound rooted in acoustic jazz of the 60s.
